NOTE: The following instructions are intended as a general guide for how to setup your system to run the e-Motion patches. There will be many variables depending on your specific system that cannot be anticipated by these instructions alone. Technical requirements: - MIDI synthesizer with four audio outputs - MIDI interface/patchbay with at least two separate MIDI IN/OUT ports - Two MacIntosh computers running Mac OS 8.6 or better and the ability to receive video input - Two video cameras - Max and Cyclops (distributed by www.cycling74.com) installed and working External MIDI Synthesizer Setup: Setup your MIDI synthesizer to playback eight different sounds for MIDI data received on MIDI channels 1-8. Route the output of the sounds to four speakers in the following manner: MIDI Channel 1 - Speaker 1 - Sound 1 MIDI Channel 2 - Speaker 2 - Sound 2 MIDI Channel 3 - Speaker 3 - Sound 3 MIDI Channel 4 - Speaker 4 - Sound 4 MIDI Channel 5 - Speaker 1 - Sound 5 MIDI Channel 6 - Speaker 2 - Sound 6 MIDI Channel 7 - Speaker 3 - Sound 7 MIDI Channel 8 - Speaker 4 - Sound 8 Physical setup - Connect the video out of Camera A to the video input of Computer A - Connect the video out of Camera B to the video input of Computer B - Connect Computer A to the MIDI interface - Connect Computer B to the MIDI interface - Connect the MIDI synth to the MIDI interface - Setup OMS on Computer A and Computer B to work with interface Computer A setup: - Run the Max patch "e-Motion(a)" and follow startup procedure Computer B setup: - Run the Max patch "e-Motion(b)" and follow the startup procedure
